There may be one or two kids out here who can do it as good as Sukzy, but it’ll be hard to find anyone better. He’s one of those artists that convinces you that the music thing can be in-born after all. The way it comes easy for him, that can’t be taught, best believe.
But there’s something about Sukzy. It’s not that he’s a Northern artist for sure (I mean, we’ve seen other Northern artists.) And we know that it’s not because he’s sexy or anything like that. His voice is good but hey, he ain’t the best crooner we’ve ever heard. So what’s it about him?
What’s it about Sukzy Africa that makes us enjoy his songs even though it’s all the same style and it all—quite literally—sounds the same? Well, I believe that will continue to be a mystery. In the meantime, Sukzy just won’t stop.
“Fada So” is not different from the Sukzy Africa we know. Not at all. The same afro (instrumental by Joe9ice, of course) that we got from him over and over again.
In a way, Sukzy Africa went along with that sample and just used the flow. His lyrics have the same temerity as on other songs.
Nothing different really. That’s why someone—and rightly so—described Sukzy Africa as warming yesterday’s rice and giving it to us to eat. But still, we have no choice but to enjoy it. Because it ain’t bad.
“Fada So” is not the biggest love number you’ll ever hear, but it’s worth listening to. But then, let’s be honest, which Sukzy Africa track ain’t?
