From the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Niger state Tuesday 20th October, 2020 1st Engagement of the day; Meeting Governor Abubakar Sani Bello represented by his Deputy Ahmed Mohammed Ketso supported by the Secretary to the state government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, Chief of Staff Ibrahim Balarabe, Special Adviser Political Mohammed Nma Kolo, Deputy Chief of Staff Hon D Adamu received the coalition of North Concerned Group (CNG) led by the State Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Bello Shariff and Mohammed Mohammed in government House. The Governor while addressing the CNG in his office called for suspension of the protest to avert it being hijacked by hoodlums assuring them that already their voices have been heard by both the state and federal government. He described the leadership and members of the group as a great asset to the state while assuring them necessary steps shal be taken to address their demands. The Coalition briefed the Governor on the motive of their protest as #Endbadroads, #Endinsecurity and #Endtobadpower in the state. The spokesperson Mohammed Mohammed highlighted the group is peaceful, committed to improving wellbeing of Nigerlites and worthy partners for the socioeconomic development of Niger state. Mohammed assured the government of the suspension of the protest in view of observation of contrary motives of some new faces at the protest site and apologised to the Secretary to the state government.
