COVID-19 Spreads to Niger State as one person tests positive

Niger State Government on Tuesday confirmed that one person has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state, saying six other suspected cases are now in self-isolation. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Muhammad Makusidi, stated this after the state executive council’s meeting at the Government House in Minna. He said the person who was confirmed to be positive with the virus has had contact with five other people, who are now in self-isolation. “One of the suspected cases returned from the UK, the person is on self-quarantine and on his third day but has not yet depicted any symptom of the virus. The other five had contact with some who had a confirmed case of Coronavirus.

“The confirmed case in Minna and other five who had contact with him are on self-quarantine,” Makusidi said.
