Covid-19: Chief Of Staff To Governor Sani Bello Meets With LG Chairmen, Discuss Stringent Measures On Interstate Travels

The CoS to Niger State Governor, Hon. IbrahmBalarabe yesterday met with the LG Chairmen of Tafa, Suleja, Gurara, Chanchaga, Rafi, Mariga, Rijau, Bosso and Kontagora Local Government to discuss strategy in slowing the spread of the deadly coronavirus and preventing a spike in cases that would overwhelm the state’s health care system. The meeting deliberated on the various challenges such as the “leaky” interstate borders, and adherence to lockdown restrictions.

Hon. IbrahmBalarabe expressed concerns over people who leave the state for Kano markets for business in days meant for restocking citing that Kano State today is fast becoming an epicenter for COVID-19 & those who engage in such activities are endangering the lives of people and exposing Niger State to greater danger. He urged the Local Gov’t Chairmen to each have a quarantine center in their respective Local Gov’t Areas & whoever is found to embark on such trips should be quarantined for two weeks and only released if they are in the clear.

Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe further urged the chairmen to continue to work closely with the state government in protecting the lives of the citizens and implementing the vision His Excellency, Governor Sani Bello have for Niger State.
